I am a Geomorphologist with wide-ranging interests including , surface processes, , and rates
of erosion. I am particularly interested in working at the interface
between active research, education, and science literacy at all levels
-- thus my involvement in the (a
residential program for high school science students) and NSF's Career and DTS
programs combining research and education. I am the lead author of the as well as first author of an
Environmental Geology textbook. I also author books for the general public including my recent book about Greenland, ice cores, and climate change: , which you can read about .
is where much of my research and that of my
students happens. Ours is a purpose-built lab where we can extract Be,
Al, and Cl from rocks and sediment. Our lab is funded by the US National Science Foundation as a community facility welcoming visitors from around the world to process samples.
Since 1993, I have advised undergraduates, graduate
students at both the MS and PhD level, and post docs from both 日韩无码
and elsewhere. We have hosted collaborators from around the world. I am currently taking graduate students through the MS and doctoral programs in 日韩无码's Rubenstein School of the Environment and Natural Resources.
